It’s Not The Message, But The Messenger Who Makes The Greatest Impact!
For truly effective communication you have to to be able to present the information you want to get across to your target audience in a format that relates to them personally.
Obviously, words are powerful. But, words alone are not enough. You have to deliver these words in a format that your audience can relate to. It sounds easy, but in reality, it’s really very difficult.
Hers’s a perfect example. I post stories based upon my own background and belief system, and in a format, and words that people similar to me might understand what I am trying to say. This seems straight forward enough right?
The problem with this approach is that people who are not similar to me receive a totally different message. What may seem like a perfectly straight forward message to me, may just be perceived as white noise by oyhers from totally different backgrounds.
I post stories that have a decidedly liberal viewpoint, as this is my personal view of reality. My life experience is based upon growing up as a Caucasian, male, and living in places such as; California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and now Florida..
However, to others my message does not necessarily register at all, as their own reality, and life experiences are far, far, different then mine.
This brings me to my main point. There is an amazing comedian, from Tennessee; Trae Crowder, who produces YouTube videos under the name; The Liberal Redneck.
Trae Crowder, The Liberal Redneck, delivers a message that I agree with 100%, but he delivers it from an entirely different life experience. based upon his geographic location, and his own personal life experiences.
This is an example of essentially the same message, but with a different choice of words, and from a different messenger.
Here are some examples;
and…
and lastly…
There are several more amazing videos that you can watch on Trae Crowder’s YouTube channel by clicking here <——
As you can see, and hear, Trae Crowder, is essentially delivering the same sort of message that I do in my various posts, but in an entirely different way, and to a totally different target audience.
My point is, to facilitate real and effective communication, you have to deliver it in a way that your audience is most receptive to, The message and the truth of it remains the same, but the words and delivery of it is radically different.
Obviously, the truth is always the same truth, but different people perceive, and relate to the message depending upon how the messenger delivers it, and in entirely different ways.
Until someone figures out some sort of “universal speech” that everyone perceives the exact same way, we will continue to deliver the same universal message, to different audiences. from different messengers, in different and creative ways..
Personally, I don’t think that this is a bad thing. This is the diversity in America, that frankly, has always made America great.
Maybe, I can get “The Liberal Redneck” to translate my words, so I can reach a far wider audience.
What do you think?
As Always,
I Am,
